Lending Agreement

When you lend an item to Buy Nowt LS6 Library of Things you remain the owner (unless or until you inform us otherwise). You must tell us about any defect of which you are aware, so that we can warn anyone using the item.

  1. Buy Nowt LS6 Library of Things will take reasonable care of the items and will only allow it to be used under our Borrower’s Agreement and Policy for the use of items. There is a risk that items may get damaged or broken – Buy Nowt LS6 Library of Things cannot guarantee that they will be returned in the same state. Buy Nowt LS6 Library of Things will be responsible for any deliberate misdeeds of our volunteers or employees (if we have any) but other than that Buy Nowt LS6 Library of Things accepts no responsibility or liability for the condition of items.
  2. You may withdraw the items from the Library at any time during opening hours, but Buy Nowt LS6 Library of Things cannot guarantee any item will be available immediately. Please get in contact and give us some warning so that we can put your items aside or ask for them to be returned to us. You may of course ‘borrow’ the items back at any time for no charge. If the item is reserved for a future date you will have priority to have it back before the reservation but please be considerate and we may be able to come to a compromise with the reserver party so that all parties are happy.
  3. LS6 Buy Now’t Library of Things shall return the items only to the LENDER stated below, unless the LENDER notifies Buy Nowt LS6 Library of Things in writing to the contrary.
  4. If Buy Nowt LS6 Library of Things no longer requires any item or if Buy Nowt LS6 Library of Things ceases to operate we will try to contact you using the contact details on this form. If these change you must tell us. If we have been unable to contact you after one month you irrevocably appoint us to your agent to store or dispose of any item received from you. We will try to ensure that it continues in use. We shall not be liable to you for storage or disposal of the item, or obliged to sell it and account to you for anything received for it.
